The second lecture of School of American and Comparative Law: professor of Harvard University talking about Intellectual Property Law

On March 25, 2006, William W. Fisher III, a famous professor of Harvard University, gave a lecture on the topic of “Fragmentation of Intellectual Property” in China University of Political Science and Law. This lecture was the second one after Professor Jerome A. Cohen’s lecture---“The Many Roles of the American Lawyer”. XueHong, a professor of School of American and Comparative Law, also attended the lecture.

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor XueHong gave a welcoming address to Professor Fisher III. She also briefly introduced Professor Fisher III and his outstanding achievements in the field of Intellectual Property Law. In an hour’s lecture, Professor Fisher III mainly introduced the three parts of Intellectual Property Law (copyright, trademark, patent) and the development direction of them. He also analyzed the reason of the development of Intellectual Property Law. After the lecture, professor Fisher III answered some questions asked by the students.

The lecture gave the attendees a way to know the American Intellectual Property law and the international Intellectual Property law. Many students expected more wonderful lectures held by School of American and Comparative Law.
